US Roster breakdown for Scotland and Austria friendlies
The last two games of a very successful year are upon us
with the upcoming friendlies in Glasgow and Vienna. Jurgen Klinsmann wanted to
bring in the strongest possible roster for the close of the year, but some key
names have had to withdraw or were unavailable due to injury. Clint Dempsey,
Landon Donovan, Fabian Johnson, and Brad Guzan are all out nursing injuries,
while Graham Zusi, Matt Besler, Kyle Beckerman, Nick Rimando, and Brad Davis are
all sticking with their MLS clubs as they continue their journey to the MLS
Cup.

How the MLS can take the next step:
The MLS has grown immensely over the past decade. It has
turned into a league that is truly in the American sports scene, something that
it never fully was until recently, but there is still more growth in its future.

Game Preview 10/15 vs Panama
Well the last game of the Hex is here, and the US has
already clinched 1st place in CONCACAF. Tonight’s game will really
play more like a friendly for the US than a World Cup Qualifier, but it could
be the difference between figurative life and death for the Panamanians.

World Cup Qualifiers round 7 and 8: Lineup predictions
The last two qualifiers in the Hex are coming up as the USMNT face Jamaica and Panama. Due to injuries, Klinsmann has a lot of lineup decisions to make. Here's what I would do with the roster:

The one we've been waiting for: USA vs Mexico
Well it's finally here. The game that we all circled the day the Hexagonal schedule came out way back in November. A game that's been 10 months in the making has been made even bigger by this year's US success and Mexico's gigantic "slump." It is getting more hype than any non World Cup game I've ever seen. There are so many story lines heading into this game that it makes it all the more fun. Preview, thoughts, lineup, and prediction after the jump.

Clint Dempsey to Seattle: My thoughts
Although it is still not officially confirmed, the potential
impact of this move is too big and I have too many thoughts about it to keep to
twitter. Clint Dempsey is about to become a Seattle Sounder on a transfer from
Tottenham.

2013 GOLD CUP GROUP STAGE PREVIEW
Tonight the US Mens National Team opens up their Gold Cup
group stage with a game against Belize in the raucous confines of Jeld-Wen
Field in Portland, Oregon. This is a guide to the group stage of the tournament with a roster breakdown, projected starters, players to watch, and my prediction.
U-20 World Cup Player Reviews
While team success is definitely important at the youth
level because it teaches the players how to win, the most important thing to look at
is the individual performances and to get a sense of the player going forward.
Winning the U-20 World Cup (or even advancing past the group stage) would have been awesome for US Soccer, no question about it. But it wouldn’t have been as critical as
the experience that these teenagers carried away from their experience in Turkey. They got to
showcase their skills on a bigger stage than they are used to, play against
some of the most talented youngsters that the world has to offer, and learn
what is required to succeed on an international level.
U-20 World Cup Roundup
For the 3rd time in seven years, an American
soccer team played Ghana with a chance to move on in the World Cup. And for the
3rd time in seven years, the United States couldn’t come through.
This time, however, the loss to the Black Stars did not eliminate us from the
world’s biggest sporting event as it was in the FIFA U-20 World Cup. And while
it was certainly a disappointment to see our lads head home from Turkey after
just three games, it did not depress American soccer fans the way the losses in
2006 and 2010 did.
