5 Keys to USA-Belgium; Starting XI

This game doesn’t need any type of build up. It’s the knockout stage of the World Cup. Win or you have a long flight home and an even longer wait until your next meaningful international game.

MLS Prediction Time

MLS is back for its 19th season starting March 8th and, outside of a potential ref lockout, excitement is through the roof. With the World Cup just under 100 days away, fans have soccer on the brain. Add to that the introduction of some very popular Americans (plus one Brit) and the league is looking to have a banner year in attendance, ratings, and popularity.

7 Thoughts Ahead of the US-Ukraine Friendly

Tomorrow the USMNT will take on Ukraine, a team who just barely missed out on a spot in Brazil (losing to France 3-2 on aggregate), in Cyprus for its second to last friendly before a preliminary 30 man roster will have to be named for the World Cup. The game had reportedly been canceled on Monday due to the political unrest in Ukraine, but is (back?) on and will be televised on ESPN2 at 1:30 Eastern.

The "Way Too Early" View on 2018

With today's first two rounds of the MLS SuperDraft and it being a relatively quite period for the USMNT, I figured it was the perfect time to look at the future of US Soccer-specifically, the 2018 World Cup and young talents who could play a big role for the US in Russia.

US Roster breakdown for Scotland and Austria friendlies

The last two games of a very successful year are upon us with the upcoming friendlies in Glasgow and Vienna. Jurgen Klinsmann wanted to bring in the strongest possible roster for the close of the year, but some key names have had to withdraw or were unavailable due to injury. Clint Dempsey, Landon Donovan, Fabian Johnson, and Brad Guzan are all out nursing injuries, while Graham Zusi, Matt Besler, Kyle Beckerman, Nick Rimando, and Brad Davis are all sticking with their MLS clubs as they continue their journey to the MLS Cup.

How the MLS can take the next step:

The MLS has grown immensely over the past decade. It has turned into a league that is truly in the American sports scene, something that it never fully was until recently, but there is still more growth in its future.

Game Preview 10/15 vs Panama

Well the last game of the Hex is here, and the US has already clinched 1st place in CONCACAF. Tonight’s game will really play more like a friendly for the US than a World Cup Qualifier, but it could be the difference between figurative life and death for the Panamanians.

World Cup Qualifiers round 7 and 8: Lineup predictions

The last two qualifiers in the Hex are coming up as the USMNT face Jamaica and Panama. Due to injuries, Klinsmann has a lot of lineup decisions to make. Here's what I would do with the roster:

The one we've been waiting for: USA vs Mexico

Well it's finally here. The game that we all circled the day the Hexagonal schedule came out way back in November. A game that's been 10 months in the making has been made even bigger by this year's US success and Mexico's gigantic "slump." It is getting more hype than any non World Cup game I've ever seen. There are so many story lines heading into this game that it makes it all the more fun. Preview, thoughts, lineup, and prediction after the jump.

Clint Dempsey to Seattle: My thoughts

Although it is still not officially confirmed, the potential impact of this move is too big and I have too many thoughts about it to keep to twitter. Clint Dempsey is about to become a Seattle Sounder on a transfer from Tottenham.
